2019 Updates

In 2019, some DEI questions will be weighted, as advised by the DEI Advisory Committee. The DEI Advisory Committee is a diverse group of business leaders, policy experts, and disability advocates, who have assembled to share with the Disability:IN and AAPD their knowledge, expertise, and vision to enhance disability inclusion policies and practices in the workplace.

Several key weighted changes for the DEI go into effect in calendar year 2019. In 2018, there were 5 categories, 4 weighted categories that totaled 100 points. In 2019, there are 6 categories, 5 weighted categories that total 100 points. Below is a detailed list of changes between the 2018 DEI and 2019 DEI.

  • Culture & Leadership = 30 points
    • Culture = 20 points
      • 2018 & 2019: Must answer “yes” to at least two (2) of the three (3) weighted question sets.
    • Leadership = 10 points
      • 2018 & 2019: Must answer “yes” to at least two (2) of the four (4) weighted question sets.
  • Enterprise-Wide Access = 10 points
    • Enterprise-Wide Access = 10 points
      • 2018: Must answer “yes” to at least three (3) of the five (5) weighted question sets.
      • 2019: Must answer “yes” to at least three (3) of the seven (7) weighted question sets.
  • Employment Practices = 40 points
    • Benefits = 10 points
      • 2018 & 2019: Must answer “yes” to at least two (2) of the three (3) weighted question sets.
    • Recruitment = 10 points
      • 2018: Must answer “yes” to at least two (2) of the four (4) weighted question sets.
      • 2019: Must answer “yes” to at least three (3) of the five (5) weighted question sets.
    • Employment, Education, Retention, & Advancement = 10 points
      • 2018: Must answer “yes” to at least two (2) of the three (3) weighted question sets.
      • 2019: Must answer “yes” to at least three (3) of the six (6) weighted question sets.
    • Accommodations = 10 points
      • 2018: Must answer “yes” to at least two (2) of the three (3) weighted question sets.
      • 2019: Must answer “yes” to at least two (2) of the four (4) weighted question sets.
  • Community Engagement & Support Services = 20 points
    • Internal / External Support Services = 10 points (Eliminated in 2019)
      • 2018: Must answer “yes” to at least two (2) of the three (3) weighted question sets.
    • Community Engagement = 10 points
      • 2018: Must answer “yes” to at least two (2) of the three (3) weighted question sets.
      • 2019: Must answer “yes” to at least two (2) of the four (4) weighted question sets.
  • Supplier Diversity = 10 points (in 2019)
    • 2019: Must answer “yes” to at least two (2) of the six (6) weighted question sets.
    • 2018: Non-weighted
  • Non-U.S. Operations = Non-Weighted
    • 2019: Non-weighted.
